Sara Fussell Messer Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship is for students in the Dental Assisting or Dental Hygiene programs with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

This scholarship was founded by Sara Fussell Messer who graduated from UNC Chapel Hill’s very first Dental Assistance class in the summer of 1957. The Dental Assisting students spent the summer of 1957 in the vacant nursing dorms learning to be Dental Assistants while the Nursing School was off for the summer. Ms. Messer wanted to leave a legacy for CFCC students to be able to accomplish their educational goals and career aspirations in the Dental field.
