Smart Start of New Hanover County
This scholarship is for students working at a star-rated child care site approved for child care subsidy in New Hanover County with infants, toddlers, two year olds, and/or three year olds. Scholarship recipient must remain employed at the same child care site throughout the scholarship period to maintain eligibility and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.

Is a community-based, comprehensive approach serving all children ages 0-5 and their families.
Funds services in three major areas: health, family support, and early care and education.
Creates changes in service delivery through innovation and collaboration, building bridges in our community to answer the unmet needs of children and families.
