History By Mail Scholarship: Empowering the Next Generation of Historians

HistoryByMail.com is pleased to offer a scholarship program for college students who are passionate about history and interested in exploring the past through interactive and engaging experiences. The scholarship program is designed to support students who demonstrate academic excellence, a strong interest in history, and a commitment to making a positive impact on their communities.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the HistoryByMail.com Scholarship Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Must be enrolled in a university or college in the USA (open to both graduate & undergraduate).
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Must be pursuing a degree (minor or major) in history or a related field, such as anthropology or political science.
Must submit a completed application, including an essay and transcripts, by the deadline: December 31st, 2023.
Application Process:

To apply for the History By Mail’s Scholarship Program, applicants must complete the following steps:

Write a 1,500-2,000 word essay on the following topic: “What is the value of studying history? In your response, consider the ways in which studying the past can inform our understanding of the present and shape our vision for the future. Discuss the role that historical knowledge plays in developing empathy, critical thinking skills, and a sense of collective identity. Provide specific examples to illustrate your points and argue for the importance of history education in today’s society.”
Include an official transcript from your current college or university, as well as any other relevant academic records.
